APP-MS 2015

Considering the success of the first edition of the School, the Italian Society of Mass Spectrometry (IMaSS) in collaboration with Shimadzu Italy is presenting you:

APP-MS 2015

TRAVELING SCHOOL OF MASS SPECTROMETRY

Advanced School of Applied Mass Spectrometry and Complementary Techniques

The school is dedicated to all those who have a basic knowledge of analytical techniques and wish to acquire advanced skills both in methodology of Mass Spectrometry than in other Complementary Techniques such as Infrared Spectroscopy, X-ray Diffraction, Differential Scanning Calorimetry, Scanning Electron Microscopy and Imaging Techniques.

This year in addition to the main application areas:

FOOD
ENVIRONMENTAL
CLINIC
PHARMACEUTICAL

will be discussed also other topics such as:

MS IMAGING
DATA ANALYSIS
QC & QA

with the aim of promoting the integration of technical and scientific knowledge of the participants regardless of the specific field of interest.

The topics listed above will be discussed during traditional lectures and during workshops in mass spectrometry labs that are distinguished by their degree of technological advancement at European level.
For this reason, the school will take place on a cruise boat that will visit the following research centers, knowing more closely their activities and their fields and methods of application of mass spectrometry:

Proteomic Center of University Aix Marseille, France
Institute for Research in Biomedicine, Barcelona, Spain
CEINGE - Istitute for Advanced Biotechnology, Naples, Italy

News of the year: will be introduced a poster session where participants will have the opportunity to exhibit their work. The author of the poster judged best by a special commission will have the opportunity to participate in the second module all expenses paid. Like wise, in second module in Japan will be admitted the best students selected at the end of the module 1 through a written test focused on the topics covered during the traveling module . The teachers of the school are recognized experts at national and international level, operating specifically in these application fields.

The school program will be structured in two parts with the following schedule:

MODULE 1 - Theory and introduction to applications, Cruise boat - from April 11th to 18th, 2015
MODULE 2 - Practical-applicative session, after passing an admission test, Kyoto - June 2015 (date to be determined)
